When inquisitive antique dealer Cami Wilson learns she’s the revered offspring of an immortal mother and a mortal father, it’s not just her hybrid status that has her all flustered. The title comes with her very own super-sexy guardian.

Jaded immortal Joseph Carlisle has only one thing on his mind; his sworn duty to protect the hybrid from those who wish her harm. Anything else would be complicated. That is until they meet.

Chemistry sizzles between them but there’s a problem—the hybrid's curse. Cami’s touch, skin to skin, proves near fatal to her and all immortals, Joseph included.

But the fated lovers discover her curse is the least of their concerns when a friend's deadly betrayal threatens to tear them apart forever.

He might have just saved her life, but being pinned to the freezing concrete by some wannabe hero was not her idea of fun. Cami Wilson shoved the unyielding wall of his chest, fighting not only him but the rising panic. ‘Get the hell off me!’

The guy remained on top of her, using his large frame to protect her from the chunks of smouldering metal hurtling to the ground around her. Icy air met with fiery heat and smoke infused the atmosphere like the fifth of November, but there were no sparkling fireworks to admire, only the flaming inferno, which seconds earlier had been her car.

Maybe if she hadn’t been so intrigued by the antique brooch she held in her hand or distracted by the weird, periodic buzzing emitting from it, she might have seen him coming at her in full, rugby tackle mode.

He lifted a little, easing the crushing pressure on her ribs, but remained inches from her face. Glacier-blue eyes met hers, captivating and intense. ‘Are you hurt?’

His gravelly voice did something tingly to her insides. She went to speak, but no words came. Nothing came to mind. Not the explosion. Not the contents of her shopping trolley strewn all over Morrisons’ car park. Not the fact she could have been killed. Somehow, none of it registered.

She gawped back at him like a doe-eyed teenager, taking in the angular sweep of a jawline peppered with dark stubble, and well-defined lips that parted invitingly as he drew in his breath.

His gaze lingered on her mouth in a breathtaking moment right out of one of those soppy rom-coms she liked to watch.

Forget burning cars and curious brooches… hel-lo, future husband.

Somewhere to her left, an engine revved loudly, and he turned his head towards the sound. Overlong, tousled hair tickled her cheek, and she got a faint whiff of citrus shampoo.

Hmm, lovely…

A second later, his attention returned to her. His grave expression burned with an urgency that brought her down from the clouds. ‘Dammit! I asked if you were hurt.’

‘No, I…’

In a move so swift it wasn’t humanly possible, he leapt to his feet and hauled her up beside him. The brooch slipped from her gloved hand and landed on the ground.

The man cursed under his breath and stooped to retrieve it. With an exasperated look, he waved it in front of her as though she were a baby dropping her dummy for the hundredth time. ‘You need to take more care of this. Don’t you know how important it is?’

Sudden indignation flared. Cami snatched the jewel from his grasp and slipped it back into her coat pocket. Okay, the guy rocked the sexy, just-rolled-out-of-bed look, but his patronising attitude set her teeth on edge. What right did he have to tell her what to do? And what on Earth did he know about a weird, vibrating brooch she’d been given by her adoptive mother, the only clue she had to her past?

The sound of screeching tyres forced her thoughts elsewhere. A large van headed at speed straight towards them. The stench of burning rubber competed with the acrid smoke from her smouldering car.

‘Follow me.’ He fisted the sleeve of her padded parka in his bear-sized hand and dragged her across the car park towards the supermarket.

Was there no end to his manhandling, macho behaviour? She did not need him to tell her what to do—the danger registered now. Big time.

Hot immortals and forbidden love. Exciting paranormal romance
I really enjoyed this. I started reading it first thing in the morning, kept reading it on the bus and felt resentful that I had to stop reading when I arrived at work! I stayed up late to finish the book. I read a lot of fantasy romance and paranormal romance, but 'Touched' stood out for me. There's great chemistry between the characters, set against the intriguing, hidden society that Cami must learn to survive in. I'm looking forward to reading more about this world and hope there will be more books in this series. If you like paranormal romance with hot immortals, read this book! ~ Cara Juno, Amazon

Sexy paranormal!
Touched is a gem of a book. It's got something for everyone, a feisty heroine with a legacy she's not initially aware of, a hot, hot hero (oooh the kitchen scene) and an ancient secret society. The secondary characters are well-rounded, whetting the reader's appetite for more. ~ SalBag, Amazon

A great read with likeable characters. Hope to read more in this series so that we get to meet the hybrid sister and immortal mother. My only disappointment was that it ended too soon! ~ Susan R, Amazon

Light paranormal romance with a touch of mystery
Touched is an easy to read paranormal romance with enough action and mystery to keep you turning the pages. Romance fans will appreciate the sexy, conflicted male protagonist and the neatly constructed happy ending. There are also plenty of kooky supernatural characters to entertain the reader along the way. ~ girlwithabook, Amazon

Light Paranormal Romance
Touched is a romance with a paranormal theme. It ticks all the boxes of a perfect romance; boy meets girl, love at first sight, reason for them not to be together, inevitable lusting after each other, hot sex and a happy ever after ending. Light easy reading for those who know what they want from this style of romance. ~ Roses are Amber, Amazon

I enjoyed Cami. She was down to earth, literally. I found the read easy, casual. The brothers were sweet/hard, understanding/complicated, unsure/focused. They were a perfect counterpoint to each other. Immortals, guardians, half-breeds, a witch, a cat, and of course bad people (Faction), and then the Elders. The pacing was good. The flow smooth. There were twist and turns. I got a very big smack of what, why, how, where in various different stages. I can see another book coming that would hopefully open up doors and provide more explanations to the what, why, how, and where. ~ The Book Junkie

Touched is written in a casual, easy to read style. The plot line is fun and the idea of the broach and guardians is interesting. Cami is a cute character. Joseph and Daniel are your routine brothers who have gotten over bad blood in the past . . . This does not end with a cliffhanger, but there is a big wide opening for the next book. ~ Fawnzy, Amazon

The author has created an interesting world of immortals with all kinds of abilities. This book appears to be the start of a brand new series as it ends with a great deal of developments still left to explore. This first book focuses on Cami and Joseph . . . The romance is well written. It is clear from the very beginning that Cami and Joseph have a strong connection. The author creates realistic tension between the two. Joseph doesn't want to be distracted from his mission to protect her and his strong attraction divides his attention. Her ability related to touch is a serious barrier to them having a relationship. When she touches an immortal with her bare skin, it causes quite a reaction. While this first book answers some questions for Cami and brings her and Joseph closer, there are many developments left to explore. The author has created an intriguing story with a great deal of opportunity for more storylines featuring these characters. ~ The Romance Reviews
